Romina Lozano Saldaña from Callao was crowned as Miss Universe Peru 2018 on the grand coronation eve of Miss Peru 2018 which was held on October 29, 2017 at Municipal Theater of Lima, Lima , Peru. She succeeds Prissila Howard of Piura as the new Miss Universe Peru and will now represent Peru at Miss Universe 2018 hoping to succeed Demi Leigh Nel Peters of South Africa.
During the same event, Andrea Moberg from Loreto was crowned as Miss Grand Peru 2018. She will represent Peru at Miss Grand International 2018. Meanwhile, Kelin Rivera Kroll from Arequipa was titled as Miss Supranational Peru 2018 and will represent the nation at Miss Supranational 2018.
The grand finale eve of Miss Peru 2018 was hosted by Cristian Rivero Karen Schwarz. The coronation gala witnessed the competition between 28 beauties all across the nation who were judged by legendary figures like Magaly Medina (Peruvian journalist and Television producer), Jessica Newton (President of the Miss Peru Organization), Luciana Olivares (Strategy and Content Manager at Latina Television), Micael Seo (LG Electronics Marketing Manager), Dr. Paola Ochoa (Director of Dental Esthetics of Infinity Dental Clinic), Deborah de Souza (Miss Peru 1993), Selene Noblecilla (President of Reina Mundial Banano pageant), Ernesto Bejarano (Marketing Manager of Marina Salt – EMSAL SA) and Lady Guillén (Peruvian TV presenter).
The finale also witnessed the performances by Leslie Shaw, Deyvis Orosco, Mirella Paz and Ezio Oliva Jonathan.
Peru has won the Miss Universe crown only once under the representation of Gladys Zender, who was crowned as Miss Universe in 1957. The nation also has earned a lot of appreciation after its terrific win at Miss Grand International 2017 under the representation of Maria Jose Lora, who is the first ever Miss Grand International titleholder from Peru.
